Under this family, there is currently no consensus on taxonomy and continuous changes in taxonomy. There are more than 110 species recorded and many more new species waiting to be named. Currently 7 genera are recorded (many times considered a subgenus of Megophrys). Vietnam has 5 varieties with more than 20 species.
